The BuQi® belongs to the BuQi® System, created by Doctor Shen Hongxun: a complete system resulting from his research, associating the Chinese tradition of the circulation of energy in the body and the practice of specific exercises, resulting from the Buddhist tradition. Chinese, Taoism, Taijiquan. The BuQi® practice requires a complete training aimed at cleaning the BinQi, developing the vibratory force, guiding it, being able to feel and locate energy blockages, understanding the principles of the circulation of energy in the body...

Dr. Shen Hongxun, creator of the BuQi System

The BuQi® is one of the practices of the BuQi® System

The goals

The BuQi® aims to find the causes at the level of the double vicious circle, to remove blockages, and to put the energy back into circulation. It is supplemented by exercises (daoyin wuxi) having the function of bringing out the BinQi while developing the internal energy of the practitioners. These exercises aim to bring order and balance (BU) energy (IQ) students.

BuQi®, like thethe entire BuQi® system, comes from traditional Chinese medicine. It was developed by Doctor Shen HongXun, to combat contemporary health and stress problems. The exercises of the BuQi system are derived from Chinese Buddhist tradition, Taoism, Taijiquan and the research of Doctor Shen Hongxun, founder of the BuQi® system.

It is based on the theory that pathogenic factors, called BinQi by the Chinese, accumulate in the body, particularly in the joint and intervertebral spaces. These blockages affect the circulation in the energy channels and reach the organs, eventually causing illness.

The BuQi consultant learns during his training to develop and guide energy. The goal is to unblock the person's energy by eliminating the blockages due to BinQi. It helps to balance one's energies. It is a treatment technique without touching. The objective is also to invite each person to act on their own health through exercises of the BuQi system.

The BuQi® system focuses on both correcting posture and eliminating physical and emotional BinQi. Activating the dantian (the center of vital energy, Qi, in Chinese) helps open blocked areas and eliminate BinQi.

The origin of the research and the birth of BuQi

Dr. Shen Hongxun founded this system to help elderly people he was responsible for teaching Taijiquan to in China, where he practiced as a doctor. Realizing that their physical condition did not allow them to perform all of the movements of the form, he suggested they work on the basic postures.
During these exercises, he also noticed that the outward manifestations of energy flow were more visible. Their condition improved when they combined spinal lengthening and relaxation with energy flow.
These observations confirmed thoughts that the teaching of his masters, his personal experience, and his research in ancient books had already given rise to.

Qi, health energy

The concept of Qi was presented by Doctor Shen in a booklet: "Qi and Qi Gong" published in 1994. He sets out the traditional definition of Qi, which is 2300 years old. This theory highlights the physiological processes of the human body, and the importance of the processes of respiration and digestion, as well as the concepts of heredity and immunity. He explains how to understand the essential terms of ancestral Chinese biochemistry and particularly the term SHENGQI. This designates the Qi of health, usually translated as energy. Ancient Chinese texts also speak of another form of Qi, XieQi, which can be translated as sick Qi. These are also the foundations of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Bin(g) Qi, pathogenic factors

There is another term for XieQi, used by Zhang Chongjing: BingQi. Doctor Shen will use this term, without the "G", BinQi, to designate the pathogenic factors that accumulate in the body and cause energy blockages. These blockages are, in the long run, causes of illness.
The role of Sheng Qi is to fight disease and restore the body to health. Being healthy means having balanced energies. Acupuncture is a traditional way to set these energies in motion. But other practices that everyone can implement are essential. All the practices of the BuQi® System contribute to this: Taijiwuxigong, Taiji 37, Taiji 13, Daoyin of E-Mei Mountain...

The double vicious circle of posture and emotions

Doctor Shen Hongxun He also understands that blockages are not only physical, but also affective and emotional. He completes his approach by developing the theory of the double vicious circle. This means that physical and emotional blockages result in poor energy circulation. Poor posture, excess emotions and stress explain these blockages.
For Dr. Shen, one factor in disease is the contraction and narrowing of the intervertebral spaces. This impairs fluid circulation and causes energy blockages. This affects organ function. This is the vicious cycle of physical posture.
The other factor is emotional. Dr. Shen considers emotions—sadness, anger, stress, fear, etc.—that affect both the mind and body. It's the vicious cycle of emotions.
It is therefore necessary to break this double vicious circle. This is the goal of BuQi.

The spontaneous movement

is a tool at everyone's service to break the double vicious circle. Doctor Shen has observed the positive results obtained with his patients by spontaneous movement exercises. He is developing his approach to this practice. He uses a particular posture to put the body in contact with the force of the Earth and activate the dantian. The lower dantian is the center of vital energy in Chinese tradition. The force of the Earth is transmitted to the Dantian, vibrations occur. We speak of spontaneous movement induced by posture. It is distinct from spontaneous movements of the human body such as blinking the eyelids for example. Their function is to activate the dantian (center of the body's energy), expel BinQi, and allow the body and mind to relax.

A vibrational force

Since energy is a vibratory force, the goal is to develop it and give it direction. The second principle of the Chinese health tradition applied in BuQi is that of opening the meridians and channels. Thanks to the circulation of energy in the meridians and channels, the body can free itself from BinQi. Another consequence of practicing the exercises of this system is to open the intervertebral spaces and the various joints of the body, where the BinQi becomes blocked, causing pain and, in the long run, illness.

Doctor Shen thus develops a complete system, and uses his experience in the field of health to help patients with different pathologies.

Doctor Shen Hongxun developed the BuQi ® and BuQi ®Tuina

for the elimination of BinQi and health. He created or transmitted the different types of S exercisesBuQi® system to enable everyone to put these principles into practice: Taijiwuxigong, Taiji 37, daoyin Yi Yin Jing, E-Mei…) . Today his daughter Master Shenjin, who supported him in this work of reflection and development of practices, continues the transmission of the entire BuQi® System and completes it (Taiji 13).
