Le Dr. Shen Hongxun developed Taijiwuxigong directly from Taijiquan, to combat contemporary health problems.
Indeed, we have adapted remarkably well to modern life, but many changes are impacting us: lifestyle, longer workdays, lack of respect for natural cycles... The effects are profound on the self-regulation and self-healing mechanisms of our body and mind. Many people find themselves with an inappropriate posture (for example, in front of the computer). Their minds are preoccupied with worries and events outside themselves.

We can then realize that we are no longer in harmony with ourselves and our environment.

Regain physical and emotional balance

Taiji Wuxigong offers us the means to help us regain our natural balance, our physical and mental condition. By using and combining the natural forces of the Earth and our own innate life force (the force of the Dantian), we reset our energies. Activating the dantian is therefore essential.
Taijiwuxigong exercises are simple. They consist of postures performed standing or sitting, while moving, to open the joints and lengthen the muscles in different parts of the body. These exercises, called daoyin, help eliminate blockages and toxic residues. (Bin Qi) Renewed energy circulates, and one feels lighter. There are no required levels.

How does it work?

The movements performed promote the activation of our energy center (dantian). This activates the circulation of bodily fluids, with the aim of eliminating toxins or BinQi .

Spontaneous movement is the most important response to Taijiwuxigong practice. It is induced by a specific posture, and activates our dantian. When Qi circulates, stagnations and blockages can be removed. Thus, the exercises can actually improve health.

To achieve this, Taijiwuxigong focuses on working on posture, opening joints and energy channels. Taijiwuxigong is an art of internal energy serving health.

The research of Dr. Shen HongXun

Le Doctor Shen Hongxun (Shanghai 1939-2011), a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine, is at the origin of this practice. He developed it in China while giving Taiji classes to elderly people. They suffered from respiratory problems, muscle pain, hypertension, and memory loss. He noticed that his patients, when practicing certain postures, felt a kind of vibration. Spontaneous body movements appeared. After a certain time of repeating the exercises, Dr. Shen Hongxun's students saw their health improve. They felt more vigorous, their minds clearer. Dr. Shen then conducted research on spontaneous movement and its effects on health. He highlighted the self-regulating functions of spontaneous movement on the body. And he became interested in its use for the treatment of various diseases. This research led him to develop a complete system, the BuQi ® system.

Can we talk about QI GONG?

The meaning of the word Qi Gong is "energy work". It is a practice that aims to circulate energy in the body. We can say that Taijiwuxigong is a form of Qi Gong, if we consider the initial meaning of the word. However, Dr. Shen HongXun took a very critical look at the evolution of the teaching and practice of Qi Gong because of too rapid development and a misinterpretation of the foundations of this practice. He highlighted that this was the consequence of a misinterpretation of the concept of Qi, reduced to "positive vital energy". However, Doctor Shen, faithful in this to the Chinese tradition, clearly evokes the existence of a "sick" Qi, which must be expelled from the body. His research leads him to make the link between bad body posture and energy blockages, Taijiwuxigong will therefore have related functions, correcting posture, opening the body, to allow the release of BinQi, and the free circulation of energy.

Acting on yourself, a founding principle

Indeed, Doctor Shen Hongxun understands that it is not enough to propose a treatment or/and a remedy, but that the patient himself can act for his own good. It is in this sense that we speak of a self-healing system. Assuming that the disease is the consequence of several factors, including poor posture and emotions (double vicious circle), he asks, particularly to the consultants of the BuQi ® System, to know (therefore to practice) exercises which make it possible to break or help to break this double vicious circle.
Indeed, the exercises of Taijiwuxigong are adapted and adaptable according to each one. It is a question of proposing exercises which unblock the paths of energy in the channels and meridians. Taijiwuxigong exercises, called Wuxi daoyin, teach how to give direction to the internal energy in the channels. They concern the head, chest, shoulders, abdomen, heel. Their function is to correct the posture, to release the circulation of Qi (called “Breaths” in the Chinese tradition) and to expel the BinQi. This practice therefore allows both to treat physical and emotional problems, to solve or help to solve difficulties, and to regain vigor and well-being.

"Become great thanks to the work of the breath in the 5 parts of the body"

A colorful but clear way of saying that the function of the practice is also part of a dimension which is that of Man and the universe. Thus, through an increasingly fine perception and through stages in the work of energy (8 stages), the practitioner discovers the harmony of body and mind, the definition of meditation in action. These practices have multiple benefits: for example, helping an energy therapist to better feel the energy blockages of his patient, developing artistic creativity, discovering the body and movement differently, soothing the mind.
