Doctor Shen Hongxun (1939-2011) is trained by masters of the Chinese tradition in the use of energy in treatments and exercises. He first treated using BuQi® therapy in a hospital setting in China, for diseases such as hypertension, coronary arteriosclerosis, rheumatism, asthma and certain paralysis, then gynecology, pediatrics, ophthalmology problems …

Its various functions led it to develop the BuQi® system by highlighting the role of emotional factors and posture at the origin of illnesses (theory of the double vicious circle).

He develops the BuQi® treatment, which uses the force of the dantian and the transmission of information to expel BinQi (perverse Qi) from the body. It combines treatments with the practice of specific exercises (daoyin) and he creates exercises called Taijiwuxigong.

He moved to Belgium in 1991 and developed the practice and teaching of BuQi®, associated with the various daoyin which take up the principles of the Chinese tradition of energy.

Doctor Shen Hongxun (1939-2011)

Doctor Shen Hongxun, in an autobiographical text, evokes the precocity of his practice. From an early age, he was interested in the practice of Taijiquan, which was then, he says: “Practiced mainly by men over 40 and for health reasons. Taijiquan has been studied by very few young people and almost never by children. »

Studying with Professor Yao was very enriching, not only for Taijiquan techniques, but also for my personal development, and it helped me develop my strength of character.

Training by Doctor Shen Hongxun

Doctor Shen Hongxun becomes a doctor in Western and traditional Chinese medicine.

His grandfather, Shen BaoTai (1883-1963), who studied and practiced Taoist meditation Longmen WuXi Gong for a long time, trained Doctor Shen Hongxun in these techniques and shared with him his knowledge in the field of healing with energy. .

He also benefited from the teaching of Masters such as Professor Yao Huanzhi (1903-1962), Master Tian Zhaoling (1887-1956), Master Lu Songpao (1865-1962), the Taoist He Jingquin and Lama Fahai (1909- 1991).

Dr. Shen Hongxun explains in his presentation of the BuQi system in his book¹ that “Professor Yao Huanzhi often taught Taijiquan while healing patients at the same time. He liked to call this therapeutic method “Xinqi”. »

Master Tian Zhaoling rarely treated patients. In fact, he only treated students injured during the practice of "pushing hands" (pushing hands or tui shou). After class if a student asked for his help, he simply placed his hand near the area where the pain was located and moved his hand down. The pain disappeared immediately. Master Lu Songao treated the same as Master Tian Zhaoling. »

Taoist He Jingquing and Lama Fahai used a more spiritual approach in their treatments. Lama Fahai was a renowned acupuncturist. He took the needles between his lips, where he held them and thrust them straight into the patient's specific acupuncture points.

Doctor Shen Hongxun is also fortunate to have access to the founding texts of the Taoist tradition, and he notes in these texts the reference to BuQi®, a treatment method that does not require contact with the patient, and allows the Negative Qi leaving the body.

He is interested in this ancestral knowledge and will develop it into a complete system, the BuQi® system.

The beginnings of treatment

He began to treat in 1963 when he was Deputy Director of Xinjiang Hospital employing BuQi® therapy in the hospital setting for diseases such as hypertension, coronary arteriosclerosis, rheumatism, asthma and certain paralysis.

During the cultural revolution, he went to Shanghai and founded a Taijiquan school there and treated his students with BuQi®. He returns to Xinjiang and continues his research on BuQi®.

In 1979, he laid the foundations of the entire BuQi® system, and it was in this year that he had the opportunity to develop his practice as the chief Qigong doctor of the Qigong clinic and at the hospital. Eryang Diduan from Shanghai. He treats problems in gynecology, pediatrics and ophthalmology in BuQi®.

The implementation of the principles

In 1983, he wrote a book on abnormal reactions due to Qigong practices, and on the basic principles of BuQi® treatment. He is in charge of a project by the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine on 'Qigong as a treatment for myopia', and this is the starting point of his theory on the double vicious circle. A chapter of this book was devoted to BuQi®, but his departure for Europe means that no writing will be published in China.

The principle of the double vicious circle is the interaction of incorrect posture and emotional and psychological factors in the occurrence of a disease (double vicious circle of posture and mental stress). This becomes the theoretical basis of BuQi®, the causes of diseases being to be sought in their interaction.

Doctor Shen will develop techniques to eliminate the BinQi (toxic residues of the metabolism) and the transmission of information thanks to the force of the Dantian (energy center) which allows to guide the energy out of the body, and to clean it of the BinQi . Many exercises (daoyin) will be associated with patient treatment techniques, so that everyone can act on their health.

Installation in Belgium and teaching

Called to participate in a congress in Europe about his work on the treatment of myopia by Qigong, he moved to Belgium in Ghent and began to teach BuQi® in 1991. He developed the BuQi® System, which includes both the techniques of treatment with the energy force and different practices. The goal is to help people correct their posture, eliminate BinQi, so that the energy flows freely.

Doctor Shen Hongxun transmits from that moment a teaching which explains the principles of BuQi® and implements these principles through practices: He creates Taijiwuxigong, and allows his students to discover the forces at work in the Taiji practices. Indeed, Doctor Shen Hongxun thinks that everyone can act on their own health, through practices such as Taijiwuxigong, Taiji 37, Taiji of the Celestial Mountain, and many daoyin. These practices bring to start the Dantian, to circulate the energy in the body, to release the BinQi meridians...

He thus develops an internal art at the service of the person, for health and well-being, calm and inner harmony.

He transmitted to his daughter, Master Shen Jin, from an early age, all the foundations of this teaching.
